The Great Gatsby – The story that gave me, as an entrepreneur and woman , the inspiration to live greater and achieve greater.
I am Monique Jeremiah and I am an award winning entrepreneur and the founder of Diversity Models. The Great Gatsby changed my life and created my blueprint and vision for social success. I never forgot how much I loved the vision of a highly luxurious life and the life of socialites. Since reading this book I have aimed to inject this lifestyle into both my business and personal life. The life of being self made.
THE EARLY YEARS
In my first year of highschool, I always knew I was going to be different. I knew I would be different as a teen and one day different as an adult. It was cemented in my destiny as I was always a unique young woman. I always spent time alone, I excelled alone and I achieved things alone. To me, being alone was where I found my solitude and my thirst for success. To me being alone, observing the world and following my heart and dreams came natural. Where kids enjoyed having lots of friends, I saw it all superficial as my mind could not relate to their very simple conversations. I enjoyed being alone alot, but I also thrived in highly social situations.
One day my English teacher introduced me to the book of The Great Gatsby and that’s when I knew this was the start of me executing my dreams. This is when I realised my social aspirations and lifestyle goals were not unrealistic and what I always wanted was very much captured in this book. The character of Jay Gatsby was a dreamer. I realised I was also a young dreamer.
MY ADULT YEARS
The character of Jay Gatsby is a young man, around thirty years old, who rose from an impoverished childhood in rural North Dakota to become fabulously wealthy. Like Gatsby I came from a very simple background, not wealth, but a simple loving family. I aspired to achieve more and live more. Like Gatsby I despised poverty and despised lazy people living off welfare, so I always stayed ambitious and was prepared to work hard for my future goals of wealth and sophistication.
The Great Gatsby gave me the lifelong dream of becoming successful and creating “The American Dream” of wealth, success and a life not ordinary. It inspired me to create a life in entrepreneurship and a life of quality and luxury, whilst always helping others along the way. I always dreamed of falling in love and having a family.
From 21, I spent my entire career doing what I love and I became an enigmatic entrepreneur. Til this day I am highly misunderstood, not many people have lived such a fulfilling, freedom driven and enjoyable life like I do. I am constantly scrutinised and targeted by people who are jealous of the beautiful life I have built for myself. However the lifestyle I live is highly enjoyable. I travel frequently, I work from beautiful places, I get invited to nice events and I am always gifted quality things, just for being me. The life I live is filled with luxury, quality and social experiences, which I try to share when I can. However I still spend alot of time alone, because I enjoy my alone time. I enjoy being one of a kind.
Those who are entrepreneurially geared and unique like me are inspired and are happy for my success and the life I live. They are my tribe. My success and journey in life have all come from a very honest business approach and very strong values. I am very kind hearted and giving and I have done so much volunteering and community work over the years. I am now polarizing . To the successful and more successful people than me, I am respected and they wish to join me. I am also envied by those who will never achieve the life and lifestyle I aspired to achieve. I love the life of entrepreneurship and what it has given me.I am always willing to mentor and help others to live a great life.
The Great Gatsby triggered my dreams. Now I wait with patience for my future love to achieve my full picture of “My American Dream” wherever in the world he may be.
